Registered Physiotherapist and Certified Vestibular Therapist

Roly is a Registered Physiotherapist and Certified Vestibular Therapist. He recently relocated from the mainland and currently offers a small number of clinical hours each week, as he is a full-time Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine.

For much of his career, Roly has focused on assessing and treating people with dizziness, balance disorders, and concussion-related dizziness. He provides vestibular rehabilitation and concussion guidance and has extensive experience supporting individuals living with persistent dizzy conditions.

Roly serves on the Board of Directors for the Balance and Dizziness Society of Canada, where he has contributed to patient-education resources used nationally. In his academic role, he teaches vestibular content to Physiotherapy students in the UBC program.

Roly is honoured to be the Hub Team Physiotherapist for the Pain BC ECHO Project, an interdisciplinary initiative sponsored by Doctors of BC and Shared Care. In this role, he helps provide education and clinical support to health care providers caring for patients with complex health needs.

As a Physiotherapist, Roly has worked across the public health care systems in both the UK and Canada. His clinical experience includes intensive care, emergency medicine, orthopaedics, neurology, oncology, pediatrics, rehabilitation, surgical and medical units, outpatient care, and home health.

He has also worked with high-performance athletes through contracts with the English Institute of Sport and UK Athletics. Roly was one of the Physiotherapists for the 2007/2008 Mavericks, Champions of the Fiat Netball Super League, and has supported the English Badminton Team.

Roly is regularly invited to present on topics including pain, concussion, and vestibular rehabilitation. He has delivered educational sessions to medical students, allied health professionals, pharmacy students, nursing staff, and physicians, and has spoken at conferences and workshops including the UBC Physician Rural Rounds, Doctors of BC Practice Support Program, Pacific Sport, Pain BC, the National Pedorthic Association of Canada Symposium, the Fraser Health & Vancouver Coastal Health Practice Forum, and the BCAK Kinesiology AGM.
